Terms of use

Effective date: 6 November 2026.

What changed on 6 November 2026. Section 2 now says that you can leave your email for news and updates from Udefed, LLC, a reminder in a month, or both, and that this is optional. The reason is a change in what the service does. Nothing else in these terms changed. This version applies to runs started after it was posted. A run started before it stays under the version you accepted for that run.

These terms are written in plain language on purpose. Every section applies to your use of Path of Living, except section 6, which is not in force yet.

Accepting these terms. The first screen of the questions links to this page under the Start button. Pressing Start is your acceptance, and these terms then apply to your use of Path of Living. Each time you press Start, you accept the version in force at that moment. If you do not want to accept these terms, do not take the questions.

1 · Who we are

Path of Living is run by Udefed, LLC, a limited liability company formed in Delaware, United States, Delaware file number 10762017, and run from Seoul, Korea. Our postal address is Udefed, LLC, c/o Legalinc Corporate Services Inc., 131 Continental Dr, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, USA. You can reach us at support@udefed.com.

2 · What the service is

Path of Living is a free web instrument. You answer up to forty-one questions, may type two short lines about your life, and receive a reading: a position on four axes and the state you are currently in. During the same visit the site reads those lines back to you. That is the whole current product. Beside it, you can leave your email for news and updates from Udefed, LLC, a reminder in a month, or both; that is optional, the questions and your reading work the same without it, and the privacy page says what happens to it.

The reading is a reading of how you are built and where you stand now, drawn from your answers. Section 3 says what it is not.

What the site collects about you, and why, is set out on the privacy page. Your answers help make the questions better: we study them to find out whether the reading lands and to improve the questions and the writing, as the privacy page's reasons say. A future version will require signing in before the questions (section 6, not in force), and a separate paid product may exist later under its own terms. Nothing in these terms sells you anything.

3 · What the instrument is not

The method page says how Path of Living works; this section says what it is not, and how to read what it gives you. If the two ever disagree, the reading more favourable to you applies.

Not a diagnosis, and not advice. Path of Living is not a psychological assessment, not a diagnosis, not therapy and not treatment, and it is not a substitute for anyone who can actually see you. It is not medical, psychological, career, financial or legal advice. No question asks about medication or medical history, and none is a screening question. Two ask how much energy you have right now, because how loaded you are changes how a reading should be written.

Not a crisis service. If you are in a place where a set of questions about your direction in life is not the thing you need right now, we would rather you close the tab. Path of Living is not a crisis or emergency service. What you write here is read later, not as it arrives, and we cannot reply to it. If you need to talk to someone now, findahelpline.com lists free helplines by country.

Not a validated instrument. That word has a specific meaning in psychometrics and we have not earned it: no reliability study, no factor analysis, no norming sample. Its reliability has not been published. When enough people have answered for the numbers to mean something, we will compute reliability and publish it whether or not it flatters us, as the method page says. The reading is new, and we have not yet tested how well it fits real people.

Not a forecast. The result is an argument, not a verdict. It is our reading of your answers, written to be specific enough that you can tell when it is wrong. Nothing here tells your future: a reading describes how you are built and where you stand now, and it does not predict what you will do, what will happen to you or how anything will turn out.

Your own judgment. Read your result as one view of your answers, and use your own judgment about what it means and what you do next. Do not rely on it alone for a decision about your health, your work, your money, your studies or the law; for those, ask someone qualified who can see you.

Because of all of the above: do not use a Path of Living result to make decisions about other people. Not hiring, not admissions, not clinical judgment, not evidence about another person in any proceeding. It was not built for that and it will mislead you there. Nothing here limits what you may show in support of a claim of your own.

4 · Who may use it

You must be at least 16 years old to use Path of Living. The questions do not ask your age, and we cannot check it. If you are under 16, do not use Path of Living. If you believe someone under 16 sent us a record, write to us with the reading's address and we will delete it, as the privacy page describes.

5 · Acceptable use

Use the instrument as a person answering about their own life. Beyond that, a short list of things you may not do:

Sharing your own result, including screenshots and the line and link the share button gives you, is expressly fine. That is what the share button at the end of your reading is for.

A crawler or an AI system may read the public pages. Section 8 says what anyone may do with their text.

If you break this section and that causes us a loss that was a foreseeable result of what you did, including the cost of a claim someone else brings against us because of it, you are responsible for that loss, as far as the law where you live allows. Anything these terms allow, such as sharing your own result, never counts against you here.

6 · Accounts · not in force

Not in force. Nothing in this section applies yet. There are no accounts and no sign-in: you answer without one, and what is kept is set out on the privacy page. This section takes effect only when accounts open, and before that day this page will say so and carry a new effective date.

When accounts launch, signing in will be required before answering. Sign-in is by Google or by a magic link emailed to you. There are no passwords, and we never store one. Sign-in links expire after twenty minutes.

Your email must be real and yours. The address you sign in with is how you sign in and how we send the notices described below. If you use an address you do not control, its owner receives your sign-in links, and we cannot undo that. Keep the address current.

Your results. Completing the questions shows your reveal on screen, and the full reading lives at a result page of its own. Retakes are allowed, and each run gets its own result page.

Retention and purge. We keep your account and results for six months from your last activity. Signing in resets the clock. About thirty days before a purge, we email you once so you can sign in and keep your results. After the purge, the account and its result pages are gone; what happens to the research records will be set out on the privacy page before accounts open.

Announcements. We may email account holders when the next product releases, and only if you opted in to that. The exact opt-in mechanics will be set out on the privacy page, which controls over this paragraph for anything about your data.

Closing an account. You can delete your account at any time, which removes your account and result pages. We can close an account at once for a serious breach of section 5, such as an attack on the service, and for any other breach of it after a warning that went unheeded, and we will say why unless the law prevents it. Closure by either side triggers the same deletion path.

7 · What you write

The two short lines you type about your life are shown back to you on your screen and are never scored. Please leave out names and health details. When you finish, they are sent to us with your answers and kept with your record, as the privacy page describes. A comment you write on your reading is sent to us and stored with your record too. What you write remains yours. We keep it and read it only for the purposes the privacy page sets out, on the ground it names there, and for nothing else. What you write is never shown to other readers, published or quoted, and it never appears in a link.

8 · Intellectual property

Every question, all 112 result texts, the axis and state names, the method page, and the design of the instrument were written for Path of Living and belong to Udefed, LLC. None of it adapts items from published scales; it is original work and we defend it as such.

The public pages. The front page, the type pages under /types/ (the list and the sixteen types), the method page, the privacy page, these terms, the status page and /llms.txt are the public pages. Anyone, a crawler or an AI system included, may read their text, index it, quote it with a link to the page it came from, use it as input to an answer, and train AI models on it. This permission does not reach the questions at /app/, our server's API, or a reading: a reading's link, and what only a reading shows, stay outside it, even when the reading's holder shares the link.

You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to use the service and to share your own result, which ends if you break section 5. Beyond what the public pages show, you do not get permission to republish the question set or the result texts, to train models on them, or to build a derivative instrument from them. Quoting a reasonable excerpt of your own result when you share or discuss it is fine and expected.

9 · No warranty

Path of Living is provided as is and as available. It is free, it is not a validated instrument (section 3), and we make no promise that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or right about you, or that a reading suits any purpose of yours. Section 3 is part of this clause: the result is an argument, and arguments can be wrong. This clause does not take back anything these terms or the privacy page promise, and it does not remove any guarantee that the law where you live gives you and does not let a contract remove.

10 · Limits on liability

We are responsible for loss you suffer that we cause by breaking these terms or by failing to take reasonable care, where that loss was a foreseeable result of what we did. Because this is a free service, our total liability to you for all claims together is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (zero, today) and USD 50.

We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, or for any loss of business, income or opportunity: Path of Living is for your own, personal use. A reading is yours to weigh (section 3), so what you decide or do because of one is your responsibility, except for a loss this section makes us responsible for.

None of this limits or excludes liability that the law does not allow to be limited or excluded: for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for harm done on purpose or through gross negligence, or under consumer protection law that applies to you whatever a contract says. Section 12 says more about the rights you keep.

11 · Changes to these terms

We change these terms only for a reason, and the change note names it: a change in the law, a change in what the service does, a correction of something unclear or wrong, or a new need to protect the service or the people using it. The new version is posted at this address with a new effective date and a note at the top saying what changed.

A change takes effect when it is posted and applies to runs started after that. Once accounts exist, a change that takes something away from you or asks more of you will take effect no sooner than 30 days after it is posted, and account holders will be emailed before it does.

Anything you sent before a change, and the reading you were given, stay under the terms in force when you sent it. If you do not agree to a change, you can stop using the service and ask us to delete your record, as the privacy page describes.

12 · Governing law, courts and the rights you keep

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Delaware, United States, and disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

Choosing Delaware does not take away the protection that the law of the place where you live gives you as a consumer and does not let a contract remove. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you keep the mandatory consumer rules of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in its courts. If you live in Korea, you keep the protection Korean law gives a consumer, including the rules that a standard term unfairly against you does not bind you and that a term whose meaning is in doubt is read in your favour, and you can bring a claim in a Korean court.

13 · Ending access

You can stop using Path of Living at any time. What we kept from your runs is handled as the privacy page describes, including how to ask us to delete it.

We may change Path of Living, pause it or stop offering it, in whole or in part, and we may block access from a device or network that breaks section 5. None of this changes what the privacy page promises: it says so before what we collect changes, and what we already kept stays under its rules.

Sections 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14 keep applying after you stop using Path of Living or your access ends.

14 · If part of these terms does not hold

If a court or authority decides that a part of these terms is invalid or cannot be enforced, the rest of these terms still applies, and that part applies as far as the law allows. If we do not enforce a part of these terms at once, we can still enforce it later. Nobody but you and us can enforce these terms.

15 · Contact

Questions about these terms go to support@udefed.com. If you find something here that is wrong, we would rather hear it than not.
